Max Cappetta
|
Max is redpoint’s CEO, lead portfolio manager for selected active equity portfolios, chair of redpoint's Investment Committee and a director on its board.
Prior to joining redpoint in 2013, Max was a co-founding shareholder of Continuum Capital Management from 2007. Prior to Continuum, Max was a partner, Executive Director and Head of Australian Equities at GMO Australia Limited. He was the lead portfolio manager for a number of long-only and long-short portfolios and was responsible for a team of seven investment professionals managing in excess of $8b of Australian Equities. Max also spent four years with Legal and General conducting quantitative analysis across all asset classes. Max holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in economics majoring in actuarial mathematics from Macquarie University in Sydney. |
Ganesh Suntharam

Ganesh is a co-founder of redpoint, and became its second CIO in October 2019. He is the lead portfolio manager for selected active and systematic equity portfolios, a member of redpoint’s Investment Committee and a director on its board.
Prior to redpoint, Ganesh was the Head of Quantitative investments at Perpetual where he was directly responsible for the overall business including seven investment staff. He also helped establish a quantitative equities capability launching two long-short strategies and expand the existing long-only business. Prior to joining Perpetual, Ganesh worked at Barra International (now part of MSCI) providing financial consulting services to a large number of institutional fund managers, brokers and asset consultants. Ganesh holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Sydney University, a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Sydney University. Ganesh is a CFA charter holder. |
Eric Smith

Eric is a co-founder of redpoint, and was its CIO from inception until retiring from that role in October 2019. He is chair of redpoint's board and Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee, and a member of its Investment Committee.
Prior to redpoint, Eric was the Chief Investment Officer for Vanguard Investments Australia Ltd where he established Vanguard’s Australian investment management capability – comprising 23 investment professionals across equity, fixed interest, research and risk management roles. In addition, was a member of the Executive Committee and at various times served as an alternate director for Vanguard. Prior to joining Vanguard, Eric was Manager, Quantitative Investments at Commonwealth Funds Management and Senior Manager at Capel Court Investment Bank. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honours from the University of Sydney and Master of Business Administration degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), University of New South Wales |
Nelson Wicas

Nelson is a co-founder of redpoint, a member of redpoint’s Investment Committee and is primarily involved in research and development of the investment process.
Prior to redpoint, Nelson was the Director of Global Equities at First Quadrant in Pasadena with responsibility for global stock selection research, portfolio management, attribution analysis and technical support for marketing and client service. Prior to First Quadrant, Nelson was a Principal at the Vanguard Group developing quantitative investment strategies, managing portfolios and playing a key role in creating Vanguard’s internal active equity management capability. He also established and managed Vanguard’s “thought leadership research” function to support global advice, product development and the institutional business. Nelson has a PhD in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. |

Andrew McGregor

Andrew is responsible for the architecture, development and implementation of the systems underlying redpoint’s investment processes.
Andrew has over fifteen years of experience in funds management. Prior to joining redpoint in 2016, Andrew held the position of Quantitative Analyst and Portfolio Coordinator at Metisq Capital (formerly MIR Investment Management) where he was responsible for database administration and IT development, portfolio construction and rebalancing, trade execution and performance reporting. Prior to Metisq Capital, Andrew was a Senior Analyst at CommSec in the Quantitative Equities Research division. There he was involved in database management and development, production of retail and institutional reports, as well as portfolio construction and analysis for CBA’s advisory network. Andrew has a Master in Applied Finance Degree from Macquarie University and holds a Master of Technology Management and a Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) (Hons) both from the University of New South Wales. |
Toby Bellingham

Toby is responsible for all trade execution and exposure management functions at redpoint, covering the Australian and Global Equities, FX and Futures.
Toby has previously worked with Schroders in London, as a Fund Managers’ Assistant, implementing orders for multiple global equity desks and as an Asset Allocation Analyst, interpreting and implementing house policy for institutional clients. Toby joined up with Schroders again in Australia, as an equities dealer, covering the Australian and New Zealand equity markets along with currency hedging responsibility for all asset classes. In 2011 Toby joined Invesco (formerly Concord Capital) and held sole responsibility for large capitalisation Australian equity dealing for all global offices. Most recently, Toby worked at Altair Asset Management as a dealer and equity analyst, covering the paper & packaging, gaming, retail and agricultural sectors. Toby has a Graduate Certificate of Finance from Macquarie University and an Investment Management Certificate. |
Louise Taylor

At redpoint, Louise is responsible for financial and corporate administration. Louise has over thirty years experience in a range of financial control, company secretarial and related roles. Louise was most recently with Grant Thornton Australia managing a team focused on advising and implementing simplifications to corporate structures. Prior to this, Louise worked for AGL Energy where she undertook a major re-structure of its legal entities. Louise has vast experience in financial accounting via roles in Australia and overseas with firms such as Price Waterhouse Cooper (London), Ernst and Young (Sydney) and KPMG (Adelaide).
Louise holds a Bachelor of Economics degree, majoring in accounting, from the University of Adelaide. Louise is a Chartered Accountant. |
Erik Sesselmann

Erik is responsible for the management of redpoint’s data and the ongoing development of the systems that support the investment process.
Prior to joining redpoint, Erik was the lead quantitative developer at a cryptocurrency prop trading firm, AFG Holdings. Erik developed automated processes to capture and manage intraday cryptocurrency data across a range of exchanges. He developed a backtesting platform, tested systematic trading strategies and implemented algorithmic trading of cryptocurrencies. Prior to the AFG Holdings, Erik was an Operations Associate at Uber, researching, developing and testing improvements to customer and driver experiences. Erik has a Bachelor of Science (Physics) from the University of Sydney. |
Nick is responsible for the administration of redpoint’s portfolios and funds including areas such as compliance, client reporting and operations.
Prior to joining redpoint, Nick worked in London for two years in the UK funds management industry. During his time in London, Nick worked at JP Morgan UK as an Assistant Depositary Manager monitoring Investment Manager portfolios to ensure adherence to European UCITs regulations, Architas responsible for Fund Oversight and Reporting of UK and Irish funds, and State Street UK as a Senior Associate providing fund accounting services to UK Investment Managers. Prior to London, Nick was a Team Leader in the MLC Investment Control team responsible for MLC’s boutique range of investment’s and superannuation funds. Nick holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Monash University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Deakin University |
